The markets of the Basque Country

  • The closest: Hasparren takes place on Harana Square in the city center, every Saturday morning from 8am to 1.30pm.
  • The largest : is located in Anglet , it is the Quintaou market . You will find everything there, local and world products, food or not, organic or traditional, there is something for everyone. This colorful and lively market is held on Thursday and Sunday on the Quintaou esplanade.
  • The most beautiful : The market of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, takes place every day, since 1884, in the center of the city. The atmosphere is authentic and warm.
  • The oldest : Since the 17th century, it has settled in the square that eventually took its name: the Merkatu Plaza in Espelette . Producers of Espelette pepper take up residence there, every Wednesday, of course. It's a covered and shimmering market, which will brighten up your day, whatever the weather!
  • The night market: go to the gourmet market on the Sokobu square in Hendaye , Thursday from 8 p.m.
